We accommodate and manage the following phases of a typical project:
Front End Engineering
- Process and fluid systems discipline work (starts early in a project).
- Conceptualization of basic design (usually includes process design packages and early stages of more detailed design).
- Close work with proprietary technology specialists to advance our technologies and provide detailed engineering for full-scale EPC projects.
Detailed Engineering
- Consists of civil/structural/architectural, electrical, instrumentation and controls, mechanical, plant layout and piping, and computer-aided engineering disciplines that comprise the detailed design of a project.
- Processes consistent across our worldwide operating centers with built-in, logical hand-off points for cost-effective delivery.
Engineering Management
- Contains project engineering, information management and document management functions that integrate deliveries required for complex projects. This team sets engineering execution strategies.
- Implements steps required to blend engineering disciplines, partners, suppliers, subcontractors and other participants.
- Configures processes and tools into a successful engineering product.
Engineering Excellence
- Focus is on continually improving management aspects of our work.
- Establishes and collects engineering execution metrics for performance assessments.
- Provides an independent focus for multidiscipline issues.
EPC
With strong, multidisciplined engineering expertise, comprehensive procurement services and a track record of successfully delivering construction projects, Shaw performs combinations of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for projects around the world.
Shaw has invested considerable resources to standardize its procedures, update its systems and tools, upgrade its capabilities and relationships, and build an international network of professional resources.
Many of our projects are supported by our own fabrication services, with Shaw being the largest supplier of fabricated piping systems in the U.S. and a leading provider of piping solutions worldwide. Shaw's fabrication facilities, including its newest and largest industrial pipe and structural steel fabrication facility in Mexico, are equipped with the latest manufacturing technology and production management systems.
